Partner Designate

Overall Purpose of the Role

A fantastic opportunity to assist the Partners in growing and developing an already long-established highly professional surveying practice to justify additional equity partners.


You will share a responsibility for overseeing and training of Junior Surveyors whilst carrying out surveys and valuations and other areas of work with which you are familiar.


It is envisaged that the role will be varied and will see the successful candidate involved with all aspect of the running of the business, whilst carrying out professional work that they enjoy.


Initially, the role will be on a salaried basis but the opportunity exists for the appropriate person to step up to Equity Partner at the appropriate time.


Key Responsibilities of the Role

Involved in Partners Meetings and decision making of the business at the top level.


Helping to influence the direction, focus and objectives of the business.


Responsibility, together with other Partners, for recruitment of additional Chartered Surveyors/Graduate Surveyors and other staff and their ongoing management and training through the APC.


Developing the firms’ and the individuals network of business contacts with the aim of expanding the firms’ client base.


Ensuring the business continues to provide a comprehensive range of services and upholds the highest professional standards.


Day to day, conducting Surveys and Valuations as appropriate and undertaking other professional work to suit the individual’s skills and experience and desires.  The Partners would be pleased to provide additional training or to fund training for the successful candidate in areas where they wish to specialise.

Previous Experience


Preferably a minimum of five years’ continuous post qualification (MRICS) experience in conducting Surveys and Valuations in a multi-disciplinary surveying practice.   Other areas of expertise complimentary to those already offered by the firm are equally welcome.


You may have previous experience as a Partner with another firm or as a sole practitioner or you should be able to adequately demonstrate knowledge of the requirements of such a role.


Preferably experience of managing other staff members and mentoring and developing Junior Surveyors.


Preferably possess your own client list or list of referrers and intermediaries, ideally in our sphere of operation.


Experience of managing workloads and client expectations and working to tight deadlines.
