Buy to Let Property Doubles in Size With New Extension

Our client was the owner of a newly acquired 1950s semi-detached house, which they planned to rent out.

What our client wanted…

To maximise the letting revenues from the property, our client decided to invest in an extension which significantly increased the property’s size and capacity.  At the same time our client wanted the extension project to be undertaken to the highest standard.

How we helped…

The Grillo Team were called in as our client bought the property. We undertook the Building Survey and, once the purchase was complete and in consultation with her, we designed and prepared plans for the extension.  We also submitted the Planning Application and, once planning consent was obtained, specified the project and contract.  Our client was a busy professional and to minimise the impact of the project on her time, we monitored the construction and liaised with the contractors on her behalf.

The end result…

The property was completed on time, close to budget and to comply with Building Regulations.  We were also able to address a shared drain issue which cropped up during the project and reached a satisfactory outcome for both our client and Thames Water.  Our client was delighted with the extension and has since gone on to refer other design and project management assignments to our team.
